Does anyone know the number which will be etched into the outer race on the rear wheel bearings? I'm after the roller bearing type (i.e. requires a load of axial preload) rather than angular contact bearings.

I would imagine a bearing supplier can supply these for circa £10-£15 /pair, which is about 1/3 the price Caterham want....

(and before we start, no I'm not willing to 'support' Caterham when I can buy the same product cheaper elsewhere. I tend to go shopping with my eyes open, rather than obscured by rose tinked specs...)

Oh no. Even I don't want that debate again! Bit of nasty metaphor mixing going on there though Fergus!

Sorry can't answer the question though.

Fergus,

I think you will find the best deal will be via Redline. Caterham are no more expensive thatn factors due to the quantity they buy.

There are lots of nasty bearings being sold these days. Be careful which ones you get.

Indeed, I think an industrial bearing supplier rather than a crappy motor factor selling chinese sh.ite is the way forward here....

I bought 2 sets from Redline last week, I think they were just under a tenner per kit (£22.90 from CC).
