Can anyone tell me what the spec of the diff in a Csr 260 is please? I appear to have cracked the mountings off the diff casing on mine yesterday at oulton park and wondering which is the easiest way to sort it ? either get another casing and swap the guts across or just replace ?

thanks in advance

Can't realy tell you what the spec is, but have you checked to see if you have the modified spacers fitted to your car?
This was an issue with the early cars, and CC supplied modified spacers.
FWIW, Quaife supplied me with a brand new complete ATB diff with casing for £1200.
They were an absolute joy to deal with!
Hope you get it sorted painlessly. smile

Might be an idea to get diff struts fitted when the diff is refitted.

It is important to check the mounting bolts very regularly, especially the lower right hand one.

It turns out to be a 3.38 Lsd I have at the mo, Bolts were fine but I did see a slight crack when i checked it a few weeks ago anyway its cabbaged now so on the look out for another casing.

whats the script with the modified brackets/spacers? I did noticed whilst under there is another set of holes in the diff that could be used to give extra support and thought of making some brackets to fit.

We went for a guided tour round Arch at the weekend and had a good look at a CSR chassis in bare tube. I think Bruce was saying that there were now some mods they could do to use the third set of mountings. Might be worth giving him a ring.

do a search on www.mog-racing.com for diff support. You will find some pics how to do it and can quiet easy do it DIY if you have a welder and some tools, material on hand.

Sorry, can't post te direct link as I'm in the office and blocked from my admin.

Are they for the CSR chassis? I only ask because on the Fluke site it doesn't mention type at all. I couldn't find them at all on Joachim's site now.
Fluke Link
Edit: found them

If the CSR uses the same de dion diff as other caterhams isnt this the same as a ford sierra?. Bet there is a few of these on ebay to salvage a casing from.

The diff braces from MOG FWIR are for dedion cars, as the top mounts go up to the top shock absorber mounts, which are obviously not there on the CSR.
But Caterham do some as an upgrade, which as I remember fit up to the chassis member at the top of the rear bulkhead, where the harnesses mount.
I think this is the part?

Considerably cheaper than the MOG parts. smile

No worries! Maybe you could post some pictures on here, when they're fitted?
I'd like a closer look at some pictures of the CSR IRS back end.
I've always fancied putting an IRS back end in my SV.
I spoke to Brace about it at Arch. He said it couldn't be done. But I got the impession he meant couldn't be arsed. I recon it could be done.
Sorry for the slight off topic.

I drove a CSR 260, and didn't like the inboard front suspension. But I loved the way the IRS rear got the power down.
Besides, I like dicking around. tongue out
Just found this pic, of a well known S3 car with a nice IRS seup.

Appoligies again to the OP for going OT.
I'll bugger off now. smile
