Gearbox

I have a 5 speed type 9 gearbox in my caterham hooked up to a 1.8 K series, does anyone else have the same setup and do you feel that it doesn't give enough emuf!

Can anyone advise on a new gearbox on a small budget?

what diff are you running? type 9 should be fine with the 3.9 diff.

I think your choices are fairly limited to the Caterham 6 speed box but these are quite pricey. You might be lucky and get hold of a refurb'd one from a racer. There were a few for sale last year around £12-1500.
Otherwise you could go the other way and change your wheels for something with a smaller rolling radius to improve acceleration (this assumes you are running on 14/15/16" wheels). Having 13" rims with CR500's or similar low profile would make a bit of difference but this would be at the expense of top speed.

How much budget do you have and what's your current rim/tyre spec?

If you can get a 6 speed, do it. Best part of a 7 by far!
