There is no such thing as far as standard Caterhams go . . . some people work out their power to weight ratios and call their cars an Rxxx, e.g. if you had a 370bhp motor in a 450kg chassis, you could call it an R820.

Wasn't the 2.1 litre grenade spec k-series R500 Evo sometimes referred to as the R600?

As others have said, just a name applied by the owner. It originally had a very high spec Vauxhall engine and probably was around 600 bhp/ton

If it hasn't got an engine then it's a R000 rather than a R600 surely??

Bit irrelevant what engine it used to have in it isn't it?

Who ever bought it at £8600 got a bargain considering what was left on it.

That's what I thought - how can you name a car based on its power/weight ratio when it hasn't got any power?
