Wanting more BHP.

I'm just thinking really, but depending on answers.....well lets see.

I've got a 1.8 VVC Caterham Roadsport running 150 BHP standard. I wondered what tuning/ modifications can be carried out to gain more BHP/ performance (starting at the cheapest starting point and gradually getting more expensive)?

Engine work wise, a quick look throws up figures of ~£1.5K (£950 kit - £475 fitting) fitted to raise me to ~175BHP.

As my car is 11 years old and stock, would something like a remap tighten up the tolerances and be worth while? Optimise what I can get out of what I have?
