Wing stay clearance with wider tyres?

I've just collected some 2nd hand slicks to eventually use on my R400D.

The problem is I only have around 6mm clearance from my current CR500s to the front wing stays/supports (mudguard clearance is fine), and the 16/53/13 slicks are going to be 15mm closer!

I've got the 15" mudguards - would the 13" mudguards offer better stay clearance (could anyone check how much clearance they have?). Would Caterham's race-stays offer more clearance?

The alternative option is to get smaller offset wheels made when I order them e.g. 6"8ET that would move the wheels out by 15mm.
