OLD OR NEW SUPERLIGHT!
Discussion
Advice Please.
Been down at Caterham today looking at some Superlights.
Do I get an older K series superlight with high miles for not too much money or get a newer Sigma engined Superlight with less miles for a bit more?
Not interested in tuning etc.... Just want a nice, well kept car to have for a few years and then sell on and not lose too much money
Your views would be appreciated
Cheers

Beware of 'Upgradeitis' it's a terrible affliction.
I bought my R300 with all the bits I thought I'd ever need, within a week it started, first it was the lowered floors, then the mechanical OPG, then a new steering wheel, in the winter of year 1 the disease spread quickly to a back to bare metal rebuild & respray & a full superlight cage.
Thankfully I'm in remission now but I keep looking at For Sale in BlatChat, it's a terrible thing

Thanks for the idea, but I'm definately after a Superlight. It has all the right bits on there I want, Carbon wings, dash, wide track, LSD. It's just a case of do I splash out and go new (sigma power), or save me money and get a older K series? I think condition and spec will when in the end
Cheers

I would go for the k-series, that way if you do want more power t a later date, it will be much cheaper than the sigma option, which might mean a new engine / new car.
It is not possible to have enough power (well not for the track). I would suggest that somewhere between 160-180 bhp is plenty for the road.
Good luck.
