Have been offline all day, only to find it is down when I get in front of a computer - could have had the decency to have broken while I didn't need it.

Gentlemen give the SysAdmin a break. Web servers are like women, sensitive and require a lot of attention.

Go easy guys.. it's still voluntary role isn't it.. (yes, lets debate the rights and wrongs of that here and now, again )

The problem in the week, (I read, I'm not involved!) was that the hosting location had disconnected access to the database server because it was sending out spurious network traffic. No idea if it's the same issue again, but it's hard running these things on a budget I guess.

Barry said on a thread that it looked like a faulty server, and that there may be a need for a new one.

He also said that there would be down-time - and apologised!

Barry does a great job!

Agreed, they all do a great job of keeping the system up and available.

Its just a shame its down now, when so many people, including a lot of my local Worcestershire group members will be looking to use it for info re times and meetings for the big show at Stoneleigh on Sunday and Monday.

Lets hope its back up soon.

"My Apologies, our database server has developed a fault, and we are working with our ISP to make it available agan."

Looks like Barry is on the case, even with the spelling mistake wink

From the brief details that sysadmin posted on the problem, my concern is that the issue actually lies with the hosting company's network switch rather than the database server. Barry could chase his tail on this and the issue still remain.
