With luck tomorrow is the day that I pick the car up (and it's also my Birthday too!!!)

The girlfriend wants either the Caterham Boot Bag or the SoftBitsforSevens RE Bag

Anyone got any of the above (or maybe either replaced one with the other) and be willing to let me know which is the better of the two/pro's cons etc etc

Cheers

Mike

It is my understanding (and looking at the picture on Caterham's website) that they are one and the same.
I had an original SBFS E-bag and upgraded to their RE-bag as it is much easier to use than the original. They are very useful for touring.
A word of warning - thay are not completely waterproof so I recommend getting some waterproof compression bags like these, which will also make the best use of the space. Then get some canoe bags like these for the luggage to go in the boot.

I have got one of the original SBFS E-bags. It was great to use and did not inhibit in boot space. The Re-bag is probably easier to fit, but I simply took the head rests off my seats to put the bag on top of the boot. I always felt that the E-bag was more secure / safer than the Re-bag, in terms of not falling off.

Seeing as I have sold the road going Seven i might be interested in selling it if you are interested.

I'm getting an SV, if it's an SV sized one (to fit the wider chassis) I may be interested biggrin

E-bag is for an S3 not an SV, so it won't fit - good luck in solving your storage challenge.

we have one of the boot bags on our SV and we've done 2K ++ miles in Europe, and the 4,000 mile USA2005 with nary a hitch. We have a couple airtight bags we put in it, and it serves us well for 1-2 weeks of stuff (mostly SWMBO). About to use it again on a trip to the Whisky Islands in 2 weeks smilesmile

The E-bag and Re-Bag are both available in SV/CSR size as well.

Although I don't see it on their website anymore you might want to consider a more bespoke approach. My luggage set from SBFS comprises a satchel type bag in the central section and then two upright bags fitting within the frame of the roll bar, all of which are to a much higher standard of finish and a lot bigger then the E-bags I've seen.

In addition to the above if you have a spare wheel the luggage rack is excellent as is getting a spare hood bag which is great for wine.
