Ive not been on here for a while but it seems to have got busier all of a sudden. Is it due to the better weather or are there some refugees from blatchat? Ive been 7less for too long but negotiating on a bike engined car for the summer. Hope to get it in the next 2 weeks.

Any north kent bike engined owners around?

Refugees from BC? Haven't been a member of the L7C since 96, so as far as I'm concerned the more the merrier here smile

I am still a member of blatchat, so don't count as a refugee... Maybe more of an aid worker?

I think the increased activity is just a function of the weather - the more we drive our cars, the more we have to talk about!

I don't know how much of a discount I get being member of any car club, (I'm registered with Pistonheads and Lotus seven club). I spend too much time on the internet anyway so never could be bothered with registering all my details and writing on Blatchat as well. Plus, shifting through the Blatchat threads to find the useful stuff gives me a headache and just confuses fun ownership of a seven.

yup, not surprised people are coming on here, I almost bought a Caterham... But after reading blatchat i really did not want to be part of a club like that, just read some of the posts! arguments over trivia or what! too many big egos and individuals up there own bottoms for my liking... club life is a big part of owning a car for me... didn't want to be a part of that lot!

still hankering after a Caterham though!

You don't have to be in a club to enjoy your car. Just get yourself a Seven, and enjoy it! You won't regret it.;)

I was a member of said club. But due to my location here in Mallorca, I only used BC, and as you say, some big ego's and lots of bickering. So I bailed out, especialy after some of the curt e-mails I received, after asking some uncomfortable questions about the clubs finances.

Blatchat is just a small part of the L7C experience. The keyboard warriors on Blatchat that have annoyed you are just a small minority of one part of the club.
I have met many, many thoroughly decent people through the L7C. Dismissing the club as a whole based on some posts you don't like is a little judgmental don't you think?
If you are seriously interested in Caterhams, there's a wealth of knowledge that can be tapped via the club and it's members. If you really do still suspect they are all tossers, why not confirm this for yourself by contacting your local L7C Area Organiser and asking them to introduce you to some of the members at your local meeting?

I haven't been a member of the L7 club for some years now but still look at it now and then and I have to say I quite enjoy reading some of the rants on blatchat. I love how they get started in a light hearted way and then some idiot comes along and takes it as a personal insult so gets all upset for no reason then it all kicks off and the thread is locked. Very amusing.biggrin
The bike engine car I was looking at has fallen through as the owner has decided not to sell after all. Bit of a shame as it was a nice one so Im now looking around again. Anybody know of a decent one up for sale. Im thinking of a higher powered one maybe Blackbird or Hayabusa although I realise they will be rare. I used to have a Superlight that was great but wanted to try a bike engine example for a while mainly for track use.

It's not up for sale yet and I'm fighting it like mad but there's every likelihood mine will be up for sale within a few months (business rapidly going downhill) frown

It's one of the original Caterham/BBMS Blackbirds and has a well documented build & history (no expense spared) with many nice goodies added by the first owner (TechCraft zorst, reverie carbon air box, etc.). LSD needs work on it which I may well get sorted soon anyway.

I'm nr Jc 6 of the M25 if you ever want to come and have a look or a passenger ride smile

Hope you manage to hang on to the 'Bird, Chris. That is a lovely car.

My BEC is hopefully going to be on the road in the summer. The project has been "decelerated" a number of times over the last 4 years for various reasons. And have given serious consideration to giving up.
