Well I've done it

Following up from my recent postings about: 6' 6" Caterham pilots, lowering floors, engine power and Insurance (thanks to all those who assisted) I've purchased an SV.

Orignally I was looking at a cancelled order that was sitting in the factory at Dartford (the 125bhp one I was asking about in the "Insurance and Engine" thread) as the car is literally waiting to be painted (so I had my choice of colour: I was thinking yellow) and would then be built and ready for the end of April/start of May - better than a 6 month wait (which I'm told is the current lead time).

However at Caterham Mid's there is (or rather was) an SV with the 150bhp engine upgrade. So having chatted to the Damian at Caterham South and remembering comments about 125 probably not being enough, I've gone for it. With a few mods (Lowered Floors, Removable wheel and some other bits and bobs) it comes out at a shade over £22k.

The one I've purchased GN07 UXU was apparently owned by a PHer so wavey to the old owner if you're reading this.

So if the weather can stay nice for the whole summer I'll be biggrin

Oh and Hi to Riggers et al who were at Caterham South today for the trip to the Isle of Wight - I coulnd't stop to say hi as I had to get into the office, I look forward to joining some of you for a meet/trip somewhere!!

A very happy Mike

PS Any fellow owners in the Sidcup/Bexley area?

Nicely done Mike!!

Welcome aboard.

We just got our tax disc through this morning so I took the first road run in our R300 SV at lunchtime. People at work have been amused by my perma-grin this afternoon. biggrin

Good choice. The more powerful engine is a better choice I would expect for the SV chassis smile And just in time for for some decent blatting with this sunny weather. I bet you can't wait for the touring to begin.

Welcome and get out there -- you now have a car that is the most fun you can have with your clothes on

Off in our SV-VHPD for the day in West Berks and WIltshire smile

Michael... is the car also yellow? If so, I know the previous owner.. it was properly looked after, mostly driver 2 up and has been replaced by a CSR!!

When are you picking the car up? I think there are three of us potentially picking up our cars from Caterham Midlands this Saturday.

I'm still hoping to get mine tomorrow but I don't think the money's in my account yet frown

Nope - Red, I couldn't justify the extra £6k just to have it painted yellow

It was at Caterham Midlands, it's hopefully on route/arrived at Caterham South for the modifications I need. Not sure when I'm actually getting it as yet.

I hope you get it all sorted in time for the weekend! And also hope to meet a few folks at a meet soon!

Mike
