Trackdriver magazine...
Discussion
....received a mail in my inbox inviting me to subscribe for a year free to the magazine...no catches, no £1 for 3 issues, but equally no free bucket and sponge with issue 1....and it appears to be printed on real paper - so no need to take the PC into the loo....

I can assure you it is legit and that there isn’t any secrecy about who’s involved, or what the magazine is striving to deliver - see Trackdays thread on PH for instance.
Sorry for the temporary ‘hiccup’ (believe that’s the technical term for such an occurrence) with the site and emails for a short period of time yesterday, the sheer volume of traffic tipped it over the edge.

Guys,
Just to be clear on some of the content in here.
Track Driver is an entirely separate publication, by entirely separate people, to the previous attempt in the same name. Similarly Track Driver is entirely separate to Track and Race Car Magazine and its directors. They do not share companies or indeed directors.
Circuit Driver magazine was sold/transferred from Mark Hales to the same stable as Track and Race Car Magazine some time before it closed. Mark was only ever a contributor to Track and Race Car Magazine, not a director. John Hayman, the Launch Editor of the new Track Driver, was also only a contributor to Track and Race Car and like a number of people lost out when they closed the doors. Mark has therefore /never/ failed to send out magazines during his ownership.
Through it all however Mark retained copyright of the Circuit and Track Driver domain and magazine titles, and so it was decided that although there was some baggage around it, it was rather a good title and should not be wasted. The good outweighed the bad.
Hopefully it's thus clear that this is an entirely different initiative, with entirely different individuals at the helm to that which has gone before.
A magazine makes money primarily from advertising revenue rather than shelf cost, and after considerable thought the investment in offering a launch free subscription offer provided the best return for both readers and advertisers of the many options available.
Really hope that's clear - this is a genuine funded launch offer for a genuine magazine which is being compiled right now. Take up has been significant already.
If anyone would like further clarification of how utterly distinct this magazine is from that referred to here, please email info@trackdriver.com..
I'm afraid only full registrations including email addresses are valid, and the site was down once or twice yesterday due to demand. I believe the bounced email you received was due to an autoforward incorrectly set, and had in fact been received by all of the management team. This issue is being resolved now.
Really hope that helps clear up any misunderstandings.
Sincerely,
Stacy
