8" rear 8 spokes fouling on dedion tube?

Has anyone had to fettle the weld on the end of their dedion tube to allow caterham 8 spoke wheels to fit w/o fouling?

At present if I try and fit the wheels, they will just turn, but the edge of the dedion scores the paint from the rim...

That is a common problem and you need to sort that with an angle grinder. Have done just the same and learned that you need at least 3mm to avoid that any little stone catch there in between and give you further scratches.

Make sure you take enough off to give a reasonable clearance else you will still get the scoring.

they all do that sir....plenty of material there - take your time and don't forget about the positioning of balance weights too...
