Temp guage moving into cold zone when I accelerate...

Hi folks,

Got a strange problem with my Caterham - once nicely warmed up (temp guage showing normal) if I accelerate the temp. needle immediately plunges toward 'cold' (the blue zone). As soon as I slow up the guage immediately returns to the normal (just below mid way) point.

I am thinking a dodgy temp sensor/sender.

Anyone else had that issue?

is it speed related or revs?

say warm it. Then park in neutral, let it idle for a little then hold the revs at 3.5-4k. Does the needle drop then after say... 10-20 seconds?

If so I'd be tempted to mention a thermostat, I've had it before.
