Can anyone suggest a good colour scheme for a 2006 R300? It's had some work done on it and well.... its all bare ali, so potentially time to paint it another colour. A few considerations, origonal clour for resale etc, colour relative to year, should these be the decider...or should another innovative colour be chosen, one thats uncommon but still in keeping, or should soul take over?

It has been kingfisher blue

I really liked the white with red stripe R500 that Evo tested - but I guess that's now really associated with that car.

I've been wondering about playing around with white with Martini stripes as an alternative to the Gulf scheme.

I like the Gulf colours, but thre's a few about now, so not quite as individual any longer.
I've always thought a Seven in the old John Player Gold Leaf colours of red white, and gold would look pretty cool. cool
Or if you like the more fashionable look, the pearl white, with lime green stripes looks well.
Of course you could go naked, and safe a couple of kilo's in paint. wink
It's a very personal choice, and at the end of the day, it's up to you to decide.
Be an individual.........like everyone else! tongue out

Triumph roulette green. We had a Superlight in this colour, it looked absoloutely fantastic.

Was going to get a pair of helmets in matching paint, but then the car had to go to make way for a yellow R300 =)

I'll go with the above! - Roulette never seems to photo that well though, much better in the flesh.

Sam, would you like to paint the car for the new owner in a couple of years, or do you want to paint the car in the color(s) you like yourself? Personally I'd rather enjoy a car that is 100% to my own taste. wink

Allen, yes its a bit mind over soul! I had an R400 race car and it could be problematic sometimes..... plugs sooting up if you left it idling for more than a millisecond, coil pack failures, apparent fuel starvation on certain track corners (swirl pots etc fitted), but it handled and went like proper balls out racer, i sold it to a guy we all know in Germany, and it was the worst thing ive done. It was white..... this could be a tribute!! haha.

The green is a colour on the list, it would stand out and look the business....the search continues

There is a guy in the Mag 7's who has a red, white and gold schemed car and it looks good

Thanks for all your suggestions

have you thought about getting the car wrapped? could be worth a look. You could have something fairly outlandish and then just peel it off when the time comes. Also protects the side skins and panels.

I wasn't going to comment because its a personal thing, but now you mentioned green....thats my colour!

Porsche GT3RS green looks the proper nads. This is a rubbish photo, but you know the colour. My brother will be photographing it in anger Tuesday for the first time.

This is a great idea, then you can change the colour every year. I suspect though that you'd need to paint the car to stop the ally corroding as I'm not sure the wrap would do it (at the edges as it were).

The green is a good shout definatly works.

This morning i bought some R300 decals, and "7" badge.....in blue. So i reckon the white root is going to happen. Is hall post some pics once sprayed and finished. Only question now is should i put CSR style cycle wings on, they do make the car look better front end?

Thought about it myself for a long time. Decided I actually like the normal cycle wings more. Will get me some lowered wingstays though...

White with carbon cycle wings and some blue decals would be nice, I think. smile
