R400 Duratec Cutting out, low oil pressure??

Hi,

When I took my car out at the weekend it died on me twice whilst travelling. I stopped straight away and checked things over, on both occasions the car started fine and I continued. There was no noticably lack of performance.

Has anybody any ideas what might cause this??

Not sure I understood the question. Is the oil pressure low? If so, you need to get it looked at ASAP.

Sorry for not being clear.

Engines cut out on me twice.

I've noticed at idol the oil pressure is just slightly on the red. Is this normal? Once driving it moves up considerably as it should.

In my case a new sender solved the problem.

My R400 duratec has also done this. Not 100% sure what causes it but I think it is related to fuel pump. I think the two stage fuel pump can run out of fuel if the tank is less than 1/4 full and you're pulling lots of g. My oil pressure sits about 2 on the road and about 1 after a track session using 5/50.
