Just got our first SV 1.8 six speed in Grigio Titnium and some nice spec. Lovely car - bit more grown up than our Supersports but no real loss of the purity thankfully and the 25-35 kg extra feels irrelevant. Very happy and customers will love it I think, especially the slightly larger ones or those sharing a day out. Thanks for the advice to go for it. smile cheers, Scott.

It's a cracker Steve - I love the Supersports but the longer wheelbase and wider track is excellent. Only downside was that I was wearing narrow shoes and the heel toeing you get used to in the Supersports seems a bit trickier. Will wer sensible shoes next time and it'll be fine smile Also the 1.8 feels a tad torquier than the Supersport. Hilarious coming to the end of the speed camera bits on the motorway on the run back up from Caterham Mids and just flooring it. Gutted to see the Gulf car go but this is a lovely car.

Hi Scotty - I've got a car booked with you next week (Thursday). Didn't know you posted on here.

Still not sure whether to go with the supersports or the SV, but probably should go for the yellow one as the whole point is to try one out with the thought of buying one, and I guess I'd be more likely to find a supersports.

I understand that you need to keep the SV in good shape for Friday anyway!

Well, we completed our R300 SV build on Sunday evening (1am in the morning actually) and took it down to CC Dartford yesterday. It's a smashing motor and we can't wait to get it back and start driving it.

What I noticed was even on the SV the pedal box is hardly huge. Shoes that I can heel and toe the MX-5 in, won't even fit past left of the clutch during cruising. So some bending of the pedals might be in order once we get the car back.

You should be fine. Have you tried driving shoes/boots? I have an S3 chassis (narrow version) and have size 13 feet, and am OK with the pedals on their middle setting. It's not too hard to place your foot behind the clutch w/o hitting the pedals.

Hi Mike O - looking forward to seeing you next week. Didn't know u were on here. We'll throw in some free miles.

I guess the Supersport is best on a "try before you buy" basis. We had four customers go on and buy their own cars last year and only one bought an SV (from Caterham Mids). Ours is a high spec car but "findable" (is that a word?).

Ironically, Caterham have quite a few SV's at the moment (seemed to be a dearth o them for a while)and there's a viper blue 1.8 with around 20k miles car on the market (PH) as well, but if you fit the Supersport Ok you'll save a few quid (or land a superlight, even a superlight R, for SV money), although I suspect you'll always sell and SV easier??.

I haven't driven the SV too much yet, but like what I've seen. Not quite as lively as the Supersport with superlight suspension and big brakes etc but still a cracking all 'rounder. We'd love to do R300's but insurance a bit tricky.

If you don't need an SV, they have some cracking cars at Mids incl superlights and I love their dayglo superlight R.

We're at the Sheffield supercar meet this weekend (which is a bit rich given our cars cost 1/10th of some of the cars there)but Paul Brown (nice chap) who owns Ecurie25 drove one of our cars (his first Caterham drive) at Tockwith, after doing demo laps in his 430 Spider and I know which gave him the biggest grin. He's bringing a Lambo 540 Gallardo spider - which is nice smile

See you soon. Cheers

Scott.

Nicodema - Caterham had an R300 SV in Gulf livery like the one we've just sold. If I was buying a car just for me, that would have been the one. Congreat on your build sunds fab and I'm envious. Cheers, Scott
