Making a windscreen claim?
Discussion
The caterham is currently insured through Admiral, not my first choice but I had another car on there which I sold and only had a few months left on the policy before it came to an end so I stuck the Caterham on it.
Anyway, my windscreen has developed a crack, would they cover it? According to their website, RAC does all their windscreen repairs, would RAC be able to replace it? I presume a new windscreen would need to be ordered from Caterham? Anyone claimed for a new windscreen?

I've had 2 done through the insurance. Both times the insurer insisted on Autoglass doing the replacement. They ordered from Caterham and came along to fit it. If that's what they want to do then it's fine by me - they actually did a better job of fitting the rubber strip than I could have!

Couple of things; RAC Autowindscreens are now called Autowindscreens and are no longer owned by RAC. I think if you check again, Admiral only promote their 0844 number which goes through to their preferred supplier; this is not Autowindscreens. Autowindscreens are not able to invoice Admiral Insurance.Sorry for being a pedant but I work in the automotive glass industry.
Heated screen ?
We run, non heated ones for racing (as they're cheaper and ony last a few races before they're covered in stone chips anyway)
We supply them £50 fitted. If you have a spare surround, running the non heated one in the summer and changing them over in the winter might work ecconomically
