IS there a good book out there for the maintenance, building and modifying of Caterhams or sevens for that matter?

There have been so many variants of Seven that there is no "one" bible. The best thing to obtain is the build manual for your particular version.

Not a TVR guy but I just thought with these type of cars, theres got to be a good book out there although I can see Eric's point in that there are so many variations it would be hard to come up with one book.

I think the Tony Weale book is actually a pretty good semi-technical overview of the cars.

It's well out of date, though - it doesn't cover stuff like the more recent engines, 6-speed gearbox, Watts-linked rear axles, etc.

The books listed above are all very good - I own three of them myself. But thery are nearly all over ten years old.I don't think anyone has procuced a book on the Seven since the Ansar Ali/Duratec era began.
