sender oil / air seperator
Discussion
After waiting for over two months I received an oil temperature sender for my oil / air seperator. However, the thread (?) is to big so it won't fit. The part number I got is 71167.
Anyone got a clue about this one? According to Caterham it should fit. Unfortunately it simply doesn't.

thinkautomotive are your friends here. They sell a MASSIVE range of pipework fittings, including metric to imperial, reducers, etc http://www.thinkauto.com/adapters.htm VERY helpful staff as well.
I had the same problem ....... but around 6 years ago!!! I could only get the sender to screw in 1 turn. At the time another local owner had the same issue and he bought a 1/8"NPT tap (IIRC) to re-thread the hole, but I was a little concerned about the swarf in the tank and not having the facility to clean it out properly. So, I spoke to Caterham, voicing my concerns about the swarf and they sent me a new tank, threaded perfectly. Apparently it's not an unusual problem!

The only thing I know is that someone said it probably should be 1/8 and that the one I got from Caterham (Netherlands) was 1/10. I decided to send the sender back. Hopefully I get the right one now, otherwise I'm going to try to call Caterham in uk.
I'm slowly getting used to getting the wrong parts. Had to send my rs14 brakepads back to Dartford today as they gave me some pads I've never seen before. Wouldn't even need to remove the pins of the calipers if I wanted to slot these into place.
