technical difference between xpower engines
Discussion
Does anyone know how easy of difficult it is to modify the 1.8VVC (xpower 300) to a 1.8 (xpower 400 or even a 500)?
Not that I'm allready fed up with 160 bhp, but who would say no to a few extra NA horses?
I've read the boring and stroke are identical on these engines, but the compression of the 400 and 500 were a bit higher. Also, the vvc should be removed(?) and I would need a roller barrel. Do these have other camshafts? Maybe reinforced internals?

to get an idea of DVA upgrades look here

If you wanted to get to "factory spec" R400/R500 then it'll be an order of magnitude higher. Just to give an idea, the cost of a new R500 engine used to be of the order of 12k (and may still be, but I haven't blown one up for a while!).
