a 2007 superlight C400 will be eligible for the current R400 SL Championship. It will however have had to been upgraded to 2009 regs. If it has not had the seq box put in this is a massive bargaining chip as it will set you back circa 5k.
Full list of regs tec is available here - http://forum.caterham.co.uk/viewtopic.php?f=23&...
There are a couple of cars for sale at CC and a very nice one at Fauldsport, ex- Rachel Green which is in 2009 spec and was running well last weekend. www.fauldsport.co.uk
Best of luck.

Jason, a 2007 car needs significant spending to get it to current R400 standard. A new (sequential) gearbox, chassis and engine wiring loom and significant modifications to the dry sump system were all introduced in 2008, and are mandatory for the Superlight R400 Championship. You'll also need a cat to run it in anything in 2009.

It would certainly be eligible for races (up to 4 races per meeting, in fact) with SEMSEC based at Lydden & Brands - see www.semsec.org.uk for details. I think it would also be eligible for the Magficent Sevens series run by CSCC but I'm not 100% sure on the regs for that series. In all cases a Cat Converter is now required, SEMSEC have classes for slicks and road tyres, CSCC are road tyres only I think, everything else is pretty much "free". The sequential 'box is a very desirable mod, as Stuart comments, and so are the revised loom and oil system. Talk to one of the teams, e.g. Stuart at Fauldsport, to get the details. If the car you are considering does not have these then it should be fairly cheap.
