As for tuning, the suspension on the car is adjustable, so you can set camber, caster, toe, ride height (with adjust. dampers) etc. Or you can fit wide track? What are you looking at doing?

The official story is that they changed the design because as tyres got gripper and brakes got bigger over the years, the original design where the anti-roll bar doubles up as a suspension link wasn't stiff enough.Separate anti-roll bar does make for easier suspension tuning, too, though.
