Lowered floors...
Discussion
I'm getting back to the fold again by getting another Seven after just three years without one (just when I thought I was out, they drag me back in) and being 6'4 and about to be in possession of a S3 with a std Roadsport cage rather than a tall one I had on my last car, I'm going to need a lowered floor. I found this on Blatchat - anyone know if this idea continued, or anyone did produce some? £500 to do both sides seems a little steep for two sheets of (admittedly tough) ali.

No idea whether someone did aftermarket ones, but the lowered seats are useful.
Whether you'll be properly below the rollcage is less certain. I am with no helmet, but touch and go with one I think (probably 1cm or 2cms - I have the curved cage). Slightly less of an issue with a cage I guess, but if you're going racing it might be a headache ().

Oh right - so the lowered floor may not buy me that much space anyway? Car is mostly going to be used on the road, so it's not a big issue regarding the helmet room. Oh and I wasn't aware there was a tall version of the curvy cage? Is it a new product?

I have had to have lowered floors & a taller cage.
Floors were done by CC at a 3000 mile service, £300 labour charge, Cage custom made by Caged 100 mm taller at rear, Roadsport but with Superlight hoops in the roof, it's a true work of art.
Floors are a bit of a cow to fit, you will need to do some hammering and toing & froing and some use of a copper hammer, stainless rivets to be fitted in shear.

Same solution as I had. Caged are very accomodating to unusual requests.Floors were done by CC at a 3000 mile service, £300 labour charge, Cage custom made by Caged 100 mm taller at rear, Roadsport but with Superlight hoops in the roof, it's a true work of art.
