Best way to get a taste of Caterham?
Discussion
Over the years I've had an ever increasing yearning to have a go in a Caterham. To me, it's seems like they're what driving for drivings sake is all about. So, my question to you is, what's my best bet to have a go, based on the following:
-can't afford to buy one!
-I'm 24 and hire places seem to start at 25 (if there are others that don't then great!)
-I live in Edinburgh, but I don't mind travelling to a track down south if necessary.
Can anyone recommend a particularly good Caterham track experience? Someone want to lend me one?!
Any steering in the right direction (doh!) will be much appreciated!
cheers,
Nick

Give the lovely Emma at Caterham a call - she organises all the official experiences. I'm sure you'll be able to attend as you only need a driving license and there are no age minimums.
Done a couple of days with them and they are all great value and none of that 'only use 4000 rpm....' rubbish. They really encourage you to drive the car hard.

I tried one of the slalom day courses that Catreham run... and that was it, I had to have one!
Last year I think the most Northern slalom event was at Elvington, nr York (which I attended). There were quite a few people there who had travelled down from Scotland for the day.
The slalom day is more fun than serious driving, but it's a great experience and I'm sure you'd really enjoy it.
Have a look on caterham's website for more details.

if you can get about 12 - 20 mates/workmates together willing to pay the £160+ each then Caterham will put on a slalom or drift day on for you at a nearby location - like Knockhill if they have a big enough paddock area.
Its one of their corporate days deals, which are in addition to the general public days available.
I looked into it last year as my boss was looking for an experiance day for everyone - Caterham would come up to Oulton Park, bring 3 cars and put the day on with hospitality.
