1.4 Supersport - cylinder head question...
Discussion
Hi,
I own a 1994 1.4 Supersport and have the opportunity to purchase a modified head for my car. It is a Moto Build Stage 2 (150) head and my questions are:
1. Will it fit a 1.4 block - I think it should but need to check!
2. Will it make much of a difference to the performance of a 1.4? Is it a worthwhile conversion, or would it be better to leave my car that (touch wood) is running well, as is?
3. And finally (this could be a tricky one to answer), but what would be the second hand value for one of these heads?
Any help provided would be much appreciated!
Thanks

1. The 1.4 has a much narrower bore, so at a guess it is doubtful that it would fit without some sort of valve interference. I'm happy to be corrected on this though!
2. There's some to be had from a 1.4, but there are far more tuning parts available for the 1.6 or 1.8. It may be more cost effective to buy yourself a 1.6/8 block from a scrappie or another 7 owner and drop it in! If you don't fancy that then stick to engine breathing modifications to unleash a bit more power. There are plenty of 1.4 owners knocking about on here and on blatchat who will be more than happy to offer advice!
3. Purely a punt, but guessing it's in good nick and a new one is around 1200 quid, I'd suggest something around the £500 mark
Hope this helps
