New R500 finished
Discussion
OK so my car is built and just waiting for it's SVA. I get it in a week.
The nice chaps from Caterham have sent me some pics - it looks ever so cool (not that I am biased, never).
Now I will be away from a computer for a few hours but will post the pics up - if someone tells me how.
I am somewhat of a forum clueless wonder....... I can also email them from my iPhone if one of you is desperate to see them (Nige???)
The car has a different take on the stripes idea, wonder what you will all think?

Hi Marcello,
I am sure that your new car looks great now it is painted too.
It would be great to have the pictures you have on your iphone to look at.
As far as posting pictures on here, I dont think you can do it directly.
I use webshots here : www.webshots.com it acts as a good repository to point people to.
You can then just post the link to the picture you want.
Nige.

I was planning on having the roll bar painted white but I am being encouraged to leave it black - what do you all think???

I've decided to leave it black - don't want to be too bling.
Was the part I was least sure about.
I have not seen the car yet but I am assured it will SVA this week so may see it then.
I think the different lenses are for SVA but not completely sure.
Have not noticed the passenger foot well - that would be odd though.

Guys,
Yes the orange lens's are needed for SVA, my kit R500 has now been supplied with bot, I will fit the orange ones for the SVA and change later.
The reason for the short passenger foot well is because of the large vertical oil tank and other items being relocated as a result of it.
Just got to crack on with mine now to get it finished in the next few weeks.

Bit cofused. You say the reason for the footwell being shorted is due to the oil tank but in this picture, http://good-times.webshots.com/photo/2306025260104..., the oil tank looks like its in front of the engine and the washer bottle is where the footwell should be?

the reason is because with the oil tank where it is and the combination of the cats tongue and bonnet vent, the header tank for the radiator needs to be re sited too.
This then means that items such as ECU, and MFU all need to be relocated, IE down by the battery in the short foot well.
Hope that's clear.

Mav,
Glad to hear that it is vibrant - I wanted a car that would be lively both to drive and to look at.
The car should haver been SVA'd on Saturday and will take a few days to get put back to normal.
Sadly, I am away from Wednesday next week so won't collect it until Saturday...
So much anticipation
