My dads r300 has 45mm clearance from the sump so we go round the outside. not worth the risk in my opinion. the surface is very rough and would catch rather than scrape.

Easily do-able round the inside. Yes it's rough but you shouldn't bottom. Mine's on 13" rims and doesn't touch the sump.
The tip of the exhaust MAY touch down but that shouldn't spoil your fun - going round the outside of the Karussell certainly will.

My Duratec R400 goes round the inside no problems... Have done about about 15 laps with it and no issues.

Iggy

The front of my dry sump pan (60mm clearance) is getting to the point where I'll replace the pan again soon, due to grounding out round the Ring. Stay off the kerbs and the paving through wipperman as well.

Depending on how you enter the karussel, how heavy your payload is and what type of suspension you have fitted, you may well ground out if you are pushing on. Sometimes these days I go round the top and can still manage to get a sub 8 BTG on TF days, so it doesn't kill your lap that much.

go roudn the top if you are unsure. My sump grounded somewhere at the ring - never felt it but I know it did. I think it was somewhedre else though where I would have been landing after being airborne.

It will be v. close at Karrusel.

I also have hard springs & reckon on the old standard road springs it would have definately compressed into trhe ground there.

I think in summary, the advice is if you are unsure and you care about your car a lot then don't dip into tyhe karussel.

I thought mine would catch but I was willing to take the chance and try it. I would imagine many caterham owners wouldn't be prepared to take the risk.

Raise the rideheight if you're worried? A few turns makes minimal difference to the handling, in fact you'll end up with more bump travel and are less likely to hit the bump stops

<pedant mode on> depends on the specification of your shock damper rod length, etc....

<pedant mode off>
