I bought a tonneau to fit to my recently aquired Caterham to avoid the bother of putting the hood up.

As its turned up as a simple sheet of vinyl can anybody advise me of the following please?

- How do you fit it, ie where do fastenings go on bodywork (got 2 in centre of dash and original hood ones but thats it, where do you drill / rivet the others?)

- How does it work with the head restraints? do you have to slit the cover or is there a better way?

Thanks

Seem to remember the headrests need to be removed. The poppers and stuff should have been in a little bag with a fitting tool (joke). Sorry it's a little vague, it was a long time ago.....

There are two type of tonneau, one with headrest pockets, and one without.

If you've got the one without, you have to remove the head rests.

On the poppers, they are already there on the bodywork and you just fit them to the tonneau to match.

The Caterham build manual is available to download on line at www.caterham-uk.com with details in it I believe.

What have you bought Benno?

just a roadsport sv (fb version) could sit in them both, but just found the sv nicer to drive with the doors on.

its a dark silver with black pack and so forth, only a 1.6 supersport engine but goes pretty well. next step could be a supersport r conversion which they say gives 170bhp and exhaust flames!

I had a 1.6 K supersport myself a few years ago, albeit the slimline version, fantastic.

If you do fancy a bit more go, another option very highly rated, is Dave Andrews at www.dvapower.co.uk

Much more coste effective than the Caterham option, although the factory can get a bit tetchy about buying them back with anything non standard on.

My R400 is due in a fortnight or so, can't wait!!
