CRS200 Gearing
Discussion
Bought the CSR200 as a touring car but unhappy with the gearing. Have commented before about the fact the car should have a 3.38 diff but in fact has a 3.9 diff . This is with a 6 speed box
This equates to 80mph at 4600RPM!! which is not conducive to good touring.
Thing is the cars acceleration is very good and feels great but I know I will soon get fed up with the high revs at 80mph as I am off to France in a few weeks.
So what do I do. I seem to have two choices:
1) Try to find 3.38 diff but I believe these are like hens teeth and then expensive. This will of cours affect all of the gearing and will I find I loose out with the through gear acceleration.
2) Swap the 6 speed for a BGH Pro Road/Track box. I would spec it with the 2.66 1st and .82 fifth. This seems to be the better alternative and would give very simialr in gear acceleration and the needed overdrive fith gear equating to a fianl drive of 3.2 and about 3800rpm at 80
So what do you think?

I think that you've answered your own question. Not knowing the price of the BGH Pro Road/ Track box, but it'll save you the hunt for the 'rare as hens teeth' 3.2 diff and less of a headache at 80 MPH.2) Swap the 6 speed for a BGH Pro Road/Track box. There's a 3.1 on here, no idea about reputation/whether 3.1 is too long, but thought I'd punt it!
