there are 2 rubber sprung push buttons on bulkhead behind the steering box cover, any idea what they might be? set about 1.5" apart, confused
also I have an omex shift light, found the control box for this under dash, how do you adjust it and what would you recommend as a limit, think it has 2 lights that come on but not sure if one is working, There are 3 lights set vertically between clocks, bottom i know is blue and shows high beam, middle is red and comes on at about 6200 rpm, top appears white but does not come on... Yet, I have taken revs to just above 7000 rpm butit still didn't come on. What is a safe limit to rev the engine to, 2.0 Vauxhall.ears

One of the rubber buttoms will be the trip switch for the fuel pump in the event of an impact. Not sure why there are two though..

You can download the manuals for the Omex shiftlights here:

Are you sure they are buttons?

I can't think of what they might be but it sure does sound like two blank grommets you find fitted around that area

Inertia switches aren't they? Cut the electrics in the event of a crash and can be reset with a push of the button bit. No idea why you have two of them confused

Trotsky, might be an idea to stick a picture up of these buttons as its a bit mystifying as to what they might be. Only thing I can think of down there is the heater control pull (looks like an old mini's choke cable with on being pulled out)
