i have a porsche charge-o-matt charger II for my 911 and I wanted to use the same charger for the R300. its got a cigar lighter at the end as it plugs directly into the 911....anyone know if i can get an adapter for the caterham that will enable it to attach to the battery ? the charger is made by CTEK i think. any advice on long term battery care ?

Pretty sure you can get a cig lighter socket with croc clips on the end. Clip to battery et voila.

Or put an accessory socket in the car wink

This is what you need from Maplin http://www.maplin.co.uk/module.aspx?ModuleNo=99505&doy=11m3 .

Punch a 29mm hole out under the dash next to the fuse panel with one of these http://www.tooled-up.com/Product.asp?PID=7674 .

Then just make up a couple of leads with an inline fuse holder to connect direct to the battery.

i forgot to say that i had a wasted journey to porsche (nothing new there !) the adapter they said would work was designed for something similar to the normal cigar lighter adapter we commonly use, but a lot thiner...anyway, a quick google and i found what I was looking for, about £6 ! plus nice helpful guy at end of phone to confirm I had the right bit. tested it the other day on the battery and its worked fine...and even revived my old battery as well ! so now i have a spare as well. so now its left plugged in all of the time trickling away ready for my next blast.
