Windscreen & MOT

Picked up a fair sized stone-chip on my 7 from the French lanes on the way back from Le Mans last year. Obviously I was fairly annoyed at the time, but was having a cracking time and haven't thought much about it since. However, the MOT is due in march...

It is literally behind the rear-view mirrow and does not obstruct the my view. At a guess I would say it is c. 6mm across. Does this count as an MOT failure?

If so, can I have it repaired to pass or will it mean a new screen? Bearing in mind that it is a heated screen, I figure it may not be cheap... Has anybody been in this position before? How much would I be looking at?

I have a feeling that I do not have windscreen cover on my insurance...

I think you will be fine to pass the MOT see here. I would however get it repaired before it develops into a crack.
