The engine.Work of art.
Less weight than a K series, more power than a Duratec. Huge quality. And it's a V8!
It needs the traction control the one RS took me out in. But it's a V8
Anyway, you're in the wrong part of the forum if you expected new looks. People in these here parts are beyond looks (if you've ever met ruby you'll understand why).
It looks *nothing* like a caterham. While I'm hardly a Caterham purist, I couldn't find a single aspect of it's aesthetics that I liked. Max Power don't do kitcars, but if they did....
All in my opinion of course - someone's spent a hell of a lot of money on it, so I might be in the minority. Just a shame (in my opinion) that something which has some fantastic engineering in it has been made to look so tacky.

Oh no. Please tell me this isn't you Jamie. I quite liked Pistonheads up until now

It is not a case of being bitter at all. It is a tongue in check comment. That is why it has lol on the end........ It just amuses me when I hear 'Hay look at this, it's a New Caterham 7' They all look the same for christ sake. Ok it may have a different engine or something different here or there. BUT IT STILL LOOKS THE SAME......
Having had two Caterhams, both in Ferrari Fly Yellow. When I asked my partner what she thought of the new Superlite to replace the older Roadsport. She said "Hmmm yes its Yellow, have you paid £ 26k for a carbon nose band?" "It looks just the same as the other car."
Further adding "What was the point in spending all that money on a new one when you could have got a new nose cone?"
So unless they have built a whole new car as a replacement for the Caterham 21 I guess it will look like all the others then...
Am I wrong?
If it is a whole new car then great, I am really please for Caterham and would love to see a picture of it. I also wish them all the very best with it.
So has anyone got a picture of this new car?

On the subject of bitter, You raised it not me.
But to put things in context in response to your comments, so others reading this thread can understand your comments. I have previously made postings here and on other forums in relation to dealings that I have had with Caterham in the past.
I bet you would be some what bitter if you had been ripped off having brought a brand new £ 26k car to have had the issues I had. I lost any confidence I had in the car I purchased and Caterham as a company. I had to ditch it after 5 months of owning it. Most of that time was spent back at Caterham being sorted out endless times. The warranty also ran out 7 months early. After Replacement Radiator, New Engine & ECU, Replacement Drive Shaft because the wrong one was fitted, 2x sets of seals for the LSD because of the wrong drive shaft damaged them, replacement brake disk and pads because they were warped, replacement De Dion tube because they forgot to grind a lug of the diff, Gear box issues, Replacement shock that gave way, Suspensions was never set up properly when the car was built. I only ever managed to drive the car 1500 miles and most of them was to see if issues had been sorted out each time the car was returned.
When the car went I lost a large amount of money. I have posted my thoughts on this car and the personal comments made buy a representative of Caterham Cars before so I don't need to go to that level now.
If I was as bitter as you say I would take great delight in posting the full details and the comments made.
I have been very happy with cars that I have had since and would say that Lotus did a very fine job on both the sports cars I have owned, The service from my dealer is fantastic and Lotus honored any warrenty issues, which thankfully was very few.
I can only call it as it is. This is the first time I have mentioned this in over a few years so others reading your comments can take them in the right context.
But just for the record the representative of Caterham Cars & I have spoken to each other politely in more recent times.

Yes you are wrong. It's a bespoke RST-V8 You are unlikely to like it TBH as it's not like any other Caterham you've seen before. Look at the thread on Blatchat for more details and I can mail you a portfolio of pix of the car when I get some time. In any event, if you want to see it in the flesh, I can arrange that (and was just waiting for the weather to warm up a little!) - it's likely to be the first car of a limited run and I believe that a second one has been orderered. Nothing to do with Caterham Cars per se though....

Yes it is Jamie Jones if that is the person to are referring to......... (Someone else had the 'Snapper' slug on this forum)
So who is the "other one" referred to above ?Snapper7 said:

This looks nothing like a Caterham. It is very bold, and an absolute work of art. Not perhaps for the purists, but what do they know Snapper7 said:

"Postings" seems quite a small word for the inabilty to accept that your experience was, whilst terrible, very unusual and that many many people have had positive experiences of Caterham. On the subject of bitter, You raised it not me.

You forget the "context" that you were the Lotus Seven Club's official photographer (the amateurs doing it now seem to be doing a decent job though !) at the time. So your constant negativity appeared to be quite at odds with your position within the Owners Club.

I am sure you recall the tale of my friend and Lotus. She rejected the first Elise as it was so bad. The second one failed too, and Lotus actually gave her an Exige as a replacement to say sorry. That was a lemon too, so she ended up with a Noble having threatened them with court (not sure why you didn't).One bad experience doesn't damn an entire marque.
Anyway, you bored me then. You bore me more now as it is such old news. Plus Ca Change...
At the chance of upsetting Mr Godfrey, I want you all to know I'm here, poised and willing, so here goes......
Trouble is with this new car:
If 260bhp in a CSR causes the diff to fall out, what chance do they have with more than this?
And if Caterham can sell this for £50k or whatever, what chace do they stand when Caparo couldn't get it running in the T1 without setting fire to Jason Plato's hairdo?
Just my two pennies.....
