Radical & Caterhams Only Track Day???
Discussion
I am looking at putting on a 'Radicals & Caterhams Only' Track day at Silverstone and was wondering how many owners would be interested. I have got some initial pricing etc, but I would like to see what sort of response I get first before getting too carried away with the whole thing.
I think the idea of only having Radicals and Caterhams would ensure all cars are of a similar speed, and if it's kept exclusive (with no road cars allowed), then we won't get slowed up by these 600bhp Evos and Skylines!!
We can just have a proper day out at the speeds we know these cars are capable of.
Please let me have any feedback (postive or negative)

I am sure this would appeal to many, however, my most memorable track days have always been with a diverse range of cars and conversely have enjoyed it less when it is only hard core track day cars there.
An old Cossie going sideways all the way around Rockingham, a truly monster VW Golf going past me at Brands and passing Porsche GT3s at Spa all come easily to mind. Different cars attract different people with different conversations in the pitlane.
Or maybe I just like passing people.....

Yep,
Test day, in my RS going flat into copse, got it wrong with a bit of sideways action when an SR3 comes up the inside very, very quickly.........
......Althought the SR8 that then went round the outside of both of us rammed the point home that Cats and Rads probably arent the best mix.

James I am 100% certain it is not possible to go flat round Copse in RS, in fact it requires a bit of a brake. Unless you include the enormous run off as part of Copse corner in which case it is quite possible, I understand you have a bit of experience of this

You will see that I didn't actually acomplish it, that is other than the time i used the very generous run off.....and yes then it is completly possible.....all of which, if you remember, I admitted to the COC.

...other than it being a little boring.....
For a track day, isn't that quite important? Bit like saying there's nothing wrong with Jo Brand other than being a bit tubby and rough when someone suggests a date with her.Even with a high powered 7, the size of the straights on the full circuit leaves it way from ideal for a 7 IMO. A 7 needs a technical, twisty circuit.
