sump torque & draining apollos
Discussion
So a few questions, since I've got half-way through the oil change on my 1.6k and then realised:
- what torque do I do the sump-nut to ?
- how do I drain the air/oil seperator of oil, is it the big hex head socket on the very bottom of it ?
- I guess this should also drain the laminova ?
cheers

Just amke sure it's tight but don't go OTT- what torque do I do the sump-nut to ?

The Apollo will empty via the sump, no need to undo anything elsemenostig said:

That will go the same way as the Apollo - ideally warm the engine a bit to make things flow a bit better.cheers

Much less oil came out via the sump plug than I expected. The rest, I'd guess over 3L, I got out by undoing the large hexheaded nut on the bottom of the Apollo air/oil seperator tank. From the piping I could see that the Laminova water/oil heat exchanger drained via the Apollo too; although a bit of oil remains caught in the piping. The Apollo's hex-head nut had a magnetic tip inside, this was coated in crap, so worth cleaning that off too. Hence, if you are doing oil-changes, do drain the Apollo !

Wierd - I always get it all out without draining the Apollo seperately.
Surely the Apoollo just drains into the sump (which is how it works when the engine is running)? Only way I can see it holds the oil is if the pipe from the cam cover is blocked - would leaving the oil filler cap on have the same effect?
