Has anyone tried to make a Caterham with an inline 6 motor?

After asking if a 5-cylinder fits in an Elise. Question is, why bother? They're heavy and awkwardly long.

Well someone's done a straight-6 in a lesser Se7en:

And its automatic hurl old Toyota Supra drivtrain - 2.0 I-6 auto, 130 bhp laugh

Years ago there was a guy working for the Tiga FF race team based at Goodwood who put a TR6 engine in a Caterham. I believe it had a tendency to plough straight on!

Yes, the phrase "here's a nice heavy engine - lets see if it will fit" and the word Caterham don't really sit well together do they!

If we're talking lesser Se7en's, Robin Hood fitted a Jaguar V12 to one of their cars a few years back, so there's always the option of doing that and disconnecting the spark plugs on one bank?
