Does anyone keep their Caterham, Westfield etc outdoors? I have a driveway but no garage and I was wondering if anyone has experience any problems with damp etc. by just storing under a car cover.

I did for 5 years, as well as driving it in all weathers. Had no mechanical problems with it but it did corrode badly in places. Since then it has been rebuilt from the ground up and lives indoors.

Just needs a bit more care and liberal application of waxoyl or similar.

There was an article in Low Flying a few months back about a couple who had a well used 7 that lived outdoors...
Might be worth a read

I have just started with Caterhams so not sure how much wisdom I can bring but, I keep mine under a cover thats waterproof and breathes.
CC said it would be ok but I have put waxoyl on the chassi as a precaution
I dont drive it in the wet though so hope that will help

i have a caterham that lives outdoors - currently without a cover. The car has no shelter and is completly exposed to the elements. So far I've had relatively few troubles (nearly a year). Yes, it will leak when rained upon (i think through the heater matrix) but apart from that (and a couple of rusty bolts and headlamps) it's held up quite well.

My supersport r has lived outside for a year now, without a cover. It starts every time, it doesn't leak (but a friend said my hood fitted better than most), but per previous posts it is getting some rusty bolts etc. I only refrain from driving it whenever the roads are salty/gritted.
