Where is the best place to find relatively new, straight Roadsport or Graduate seven? Is there an owner's club/ organisation I need to join first?

I am taking the racing plunge next year but have not decided on which category it will be- just want to know if my budget is realistic and how to avoid a dog. Will need to be road legal but only just.

Presume best choice is at the end of the season?

Advice much appreciated

You can find some of the Grads cars here www.graduates.org.uk/forsale/default.asp
Best time to buy is straight away

Hi,

I might be selling my Roadsport A if you are interested but I am not sure what current category it fits (if any!). Its a 97 car with dry sump, LSD, 6 speed box, widetrack, adjustable suspension, cage, stack etc.

You will certainly get more choice over winter for a car, but there are some around. A secondhand ex academy car is a good starting point. They are often available on blatchat. However, I think you need to decide which series you want to race in first. There are plenty of threads on here and roadsports.co.uk around this topic. Just note that most people that post are biased as they race in one of the series. (come to Grads!!! :-) )

Hi all, my first choices are either megagrads or Roadsport. The Academy would have made sense to get to know the car but like a fool I got the racing licence last year without realising this would exclude me from that series - I have never raced cars (only karts) before but don't really want to buy something that I will want to replace in a year or two so it's no real problem- would rather get wasted in the first season and pick things up as I know a few of the circuits reasonably well.
First choice is roadsport as I prefer Avons to Yokos, but I guess it will come down togoing to a few meets and talking to the experts! Budgeting on about 15-17K for the car that's ready to race

Should be in absolutely A1 condition for that money. Do you want to race this season or next? Visiting Donington on 3rd June?

Incidentally I know someone who has a top RS for sale if you are interested.

Hi Simon

Unfortunately I am having a minor op on May 31 so have had to cancel Donington

I will be racing next year, so ideally need to sell my beloved Lancia Montecarlo within a month, and buy a car between June and October and enter the series for next year.

Yes I may be interested....can you send me an email with the spec? Where are you based?
