Hi, I am looking after my Brothers 7 while he is out in the Gulf, had it on trickle charge, ocassionaly starting no problem. Battery charger was swithed off for 36 hours (Accident) then on again but started to get a really bad Acid / Egg smell from battery. Now the charger is saying it is charging all the time....... battery stone cold... won't turn at all, tried jump starting it, it turned very slightly but not enough to start. Does anyone know the best battery to replace as i think it is dead ???? 1.6 K series. Thanks

Sounds like the battery is knackered, they're not expensive, ring your local autofactors

Best replace it with a Banner battery for around £40-50 from local motor factors or do a search for a battery place that stocks banner. Thus saying that unless you are going to drive the car round, maybe leave the battery now until our brother gets back to save it having to sit on a conditioner etc.

But don't forget to keep it topped up otherwise even your conditioner will boil it
