How easy is it to fit either of these and can you fit them to a VVC engine?
Thanks for the help

I've got a dry-sumped VVC in my 7. I think the Apollo is easier (and cheaper) to fit than the full dry sump but I've not done one. Neither are particularly difficult though.

Apollo is farily straightforward to fit.
Dry sump is a bit more tricky depending on which solution you go for.
The standard Caterham setup uses a tank cast into the gearbox bellhousing so that is an engine out job. They do now offer an option using a separate remote tank. This can be sourced from Caterham (I think it needs the passenger footwell shortening) or from another supplier (I believe Brise will supply one that fits where the Apollo tank would go just in front of the engine). The rest of the fitting is fairly straightforward although some bits are a bit fiddly and the instructions supplied are not perfect! The Caterham solution uses the standard Rover pressure pump plus an additional belt driven scavenge pump with a single pickup.
The alternative solution is from Pace and that replaces the rover pressure pump with a belt driven dual stage scavenge and pressure pump. It can be fitted with the engine in the car.
On the Caterham system, if the belt breaks then you have a few seconds worth of oil to shutdown - a microswitch on the belt tensioner connected to a bright lamp on the dash can be used as a warning device.
On the Pace system if the belt breaks then you have no pressure pump and a seized engine very soon afterwards.

I fitted a Pace system to my K series. Done with the engine in the car. Works well, had no problems for 2 years.

I fitted an Apollo tank to my VVC in one evening, It is an easy job to do (and I only had one oil leek).

A good guide can be found on Angus's web site www.mycaterham.com/66828/67348.html .

If you want a Pace dry sump, Pace would be a good place to start
