R500 immobiliser
Discussion
My R500 has come with two "TOAD" plugs for the immobiliser. However the handbook refers to a red and black plug to be inserted in a dash socket. I have no red/black plugs or socket. It also mentions a flashing LED and a buzzer. If the master switch is off would these work? Can anyone explain?.......thanks.
The Toad will only work with the cut off switch switched on. You should wait before switching the cut off switch for the warning ligt to start flashing. The Toad uses as induction loop that is either behind the stack or around the gear lever. The key fob just has to be passed near to the loop. Hope this is clear if not give me a call.

Thanks Mic. I`m off to see Steve Greenald in April (you must know him......he`s fully booked till then) to get it remapped. Difficult to drive in traffic..........hopping and jumping all over the place. My understanding from those I have spoken with is that Caterham didn`t do a good job with the original mapping. Mick

Yes - I need to find some time to get Steve to remap my car too. Note that Minister did the mapping and I'm not sure why they haven't sorted it out...

is it actually possible to get an R500 to behave in traffic ?
all the ones i've come across have all suggested a large case of TADTS
i.e. that the cam duration is way too big to get it to run smoothly at low rpms

My understanding is that once the remapping is done it is MUCH more civilised.
