Evening gents, have almost, nearly decided on what I am going to do about buying a bit more grunt. Have found engine and exhaust I like, but will leave me with some surplus parts. Could you give me your views on values and best places to sell (re-couping some of the cost of the purchase makes the whole deal a lot easier to sell to dearly beloved).

Parts available

1.4K series with ECU
Caterham alloy sump for above
Caterham exhaust manifold (4 into 1 inside body) and silencer

Cheers

As usual parts value are what anyone is willing to give you for them.

Not sure on the engine but the wet sump is probably about £100 and the standard exhaust is around £150-200. The most likely person for the exhaust (given most people will upgrade away from this system!) is a racer where they need to keep their car to a certain standard spec and the exhaust is seen as a consumable item.

Depends on which k-series (are there X patterns on the block?) and its upgrade potential...I would have thought "not very much" these days. Maybe 2-300 quid tops.

Sumps are worth about 100 quid in good condition if you get someone who's just cracked theirs.

Exhaust isn't worth anything IMO. Might be wise to flog it with the engine. Maybe 50 quid I would say.

Every exhaust I have sold for a seven has made some money even the basic ones. I got £150 for a bog standard rear exit crossflow one about 5 years ago and I was expecting to have to dump it.
