Been to look at a couple of track days recently with a view to buying a car to take to such events. Obviously a Caterham seems to be the tool, but which one ? I have been recommended to look for a superlight. Where can I get some good advice, is there anywhere near Cardiff/South Wales ?

Am happy to have to put the car on a trailer, but it would also be useful if it could occasionally be used to drive to a local track.

Any advice would be much appreciated.

There's a very active South Wales group of the Lotus 7 Club (Caterham and Lotus 7 owners club). I'd recommend going along to one of their meets and chatting to them about the options. You can find when and where they meet by looking here: www.lotussevenclub.com

Your nearest official dealer will be Millwood in Cam, Gloucestershire - www.millwood-mc.co.uk

I nearly always drive my 7 to track days (but do have a trailer just in case!).

I drive mine to trackdays (and all over the place). If you want to try before you buy www.bookatrack.com do trackdays with Caterham hire. As Ewen has said Millwood are very good.

Be careful though they're addictivethumbup

Thanks guys.

I did in fact visit Castle Combe a couple of weekends ago which was a bookatrack day, and that was what got me going on the Caterhams.

I'm going to give Millward a call and go up and look at a few cars, and perhaps book a Caterham at the next Castle Combe day

How does your GT3 compare to the Caterham? I'm thinking of getting one, but slightly concerned about the consumables costs when using them on track.....
