1.6 Supersport engine

Afternoon guys, am in need of more advice re: engine upgrades.
I have previously asked about upgrading to a 1.8 K from my non-supersport 1.4, but there is a 1.6 supersport spec engine available for sensible money.
The engine in question is an EU3 and I am pretty sute that mine is an EU2 (it has a distributor at the back of the engine on the drivers side cam). Could I plug a EU3 engine into my existing loom and attach the dirtibutor and HT leads and utilise the existing ECU?
If this is possible, will the engine till have the c. 135BHP as it has currently via its EU3 supersport ECU?
There may be other issues which I have not considered, and if so, please could you advise.

I think so long as you get the ecu, plippers & loom you will be OK - it will need a different flywheel too.
This is stuff I have heard by the way - I have only ever paid other people to swp engines for me & they know what they are doing better than I do.
1800 is supposedly a bit torquier but not sure you would notice really.
