Hi guy/girls!

Recently joined the Caterham 'Clan' and was wondering if there are any other owners of Caterhams around my age (22). Went to a couple of club meets but I'm starting to think that I'm having my mid-life crisis 18 years early!

Would love to hear from anyone, regardless of age, just interested to see if there is anyone in my age group!

For those interested, I have purchased a 2003 Caterham Superlight R300 in Silver/Carbon.

Regards

Paul M
(Fleet, Hampshire)

P.s - Anyone know anywhere to buy some sensibly priced CR500's? Don't really need them yet, but I'm enjoying the donuts!

He he! Insurance was surprisingly good! Less than my 1000cc Mini Cooper would you believe! If you wish to know who I'm insured with, please e-mail me as the lady I spoke to was very helpful and I think she may even do discounts for people recommended!

Hi Paul,
I'm 34 and consider myself to be in your age bracket
I'm new to Caterham ownership too, and I'm just waiting for my R300 to be 'enlarged' (lowered floor and Tillets removed as I'm 6'3" before I pick it up.
Haven't arranged insurance yet, but did get a couple of quotes. £450-500 seems to be about the mark with 4 track days included (I want TD cover) and then £40 per TD after that. Limited to 5000 miles.
Who did you get yours through and how much was it?
Can't wait to pick it up, I've already booked my 1st TD and I haven't even got it

Hi,

I'm insured through MSM Insurance. My Cover is Fully Comp but no track day cover. The Premium was £520 which I though was a result du to my age. (I have 5 yrs no claims which I think may help abit)

If you want to speak to Jan at MSM. Please e-mail me and I will furnish you with the contact details! Service has been 1st Class!

Hey, I hope you are not slagging off those svelte (but mature) chaps who turn up regularly at THe Phoenix?

Congrats Paul,I had my first Cat at a similar age,but it was a lowly crossflow powered wheezy thing.Still fun though.I have a Cat now,and pay 308 with Footman James, and believe me,it's modified, and everything declared(inc the turbo). So, if yo uever feel like venturing down the A32 for a decent summer run,let me know(i'm nr Fareham),but be warned, we leave here at 5.30-6.00 in the summer!

Always up for planning a few summer Blats. Unfortunatly though I do have friends who like to tag along in their 'inferior' cars (Vauxhall VX220, Honda S2000's etc) so maybe a few of us Caterham owners can show them what a real sports car is!

Incidently, I took one of my mates out on (would you believe it) Christmas Day and he was silent for atleast half an hour after we returned (with that "I've just had my first journey in a Caterham" look on his face!) However, have since seen the dreaded gritting lorries out and about so the car is garage bound for the winter now

Hi Paul, I have also just bought a R300, my first Caterham, but it is an SV, the difference is I am 55 now, but I did buy a Porsche 911S on my 23rd birthday as in those days track days hadn't been invented and you did all your naughty driving on the roads which in those days were a lot clearer, at least in lincolnshire they were. Done a couple of track days withit, Cadwell and bedford, brilliant!!!!
