race car my ar5e, I can see the handbrake! I think the author should note that race car chassis don't have tunnel mounted handbrakes...

This may be worth £16-£17k to someone who wants a specific car, but not a penny more.

They do have the tunnel handbrakes and have had since 2002.

I can't help but admire the optimism and ambition here. Sounds like it might be worth 30k+ in a couple of years ;-)

following some links on other forums, I think the chap has been notified that it *might* not be that rare, i.e. there are about 50 cars a year (at least) of this spec!

It's the 2003 season cars that went to them, I was in 2002 and we still had the joke handbrakes. I still leave every car I drive in first gear when I get out, the habit stuck!

Anyway, this guy ought to be told that the Cat race cars lose value far quicker than the road ones (unjustifiably IMHO) so he's probably better off not going on about it. Looks like a bog-standard Academy spec car to me with none of the higher-spec track stuff, you could pick up one like this at the end of the season for £13k or so.

His glass must be half full!
