I will probably return to "seven" ownership when I decide to sell the Griffith and the CSR keeps catching my eye.I'm guessing you could probably spend £45k on a specced up 260 so this begs the question "could someone build me a much better specced car for £45k or build an equivilant specced car for quite a bit less"?.I believe the CSR is "heavy" for a seven but does this matter if its primarily a road car?( I know less weight = free performance).Could a RST v8 be built for this kind of money?Do the "tuned" Duratechs or the RST's need regular rebuilds/refresh or are they pretty much bullet proof like the old Rover lump in my Griff.?I'd probably be doing in excess of 10000 miles a year.( I managed 6000miles in 5.5 months between Sept and March in a Westie )

Ignoring the new CSR suspension etc., you can build an equivalently powered well specced S3 for 30 to 35k ish? Depends how much is *has* to be a CSR. I'm guessing an RST will cost you more than a CSR.

Buy a r500 for 23K ish, and put a few quid aside for engine refresh etc...same performance for nearly half the cost

You could build an RST for about that sort of money. Call Russell Savory at Motapower and he'll give you an idea

If it is primarily road use then no question a CSR is better. The improvements in the suspension are huge and the car feels much more planted over our awful roads!
