Hi, I'm currently insured with THB in Nottingham but because I'm 5 days past the renewal date they say it has to be treated as a new application and I loose my discount....

Not impresses so seems as it appears I'm starting from scratch has anyone got any reccomendations?

Current quote for a 2003 R400, limited milage inc track day cover £390
Driver 38 years old, ages of NCB, about 7 years I think.

Thanks

Saw your post on Blatchat, do a search and you will end up with the usual suspects.

I'm with Hagerty, who seem pretty good, main reason I went with them, is they offer trackday insurance per trackday at 10% of your annual premium.

Wen't back to THB, no joy, so got a quote from Adrian Flux who I have used previously.

Saved just over £100 with AF compared to THB who wouldn't budge.

In the end it seems their decision to not give me the renewal discount has done me a favour!

Shop around chaps!!

Dissappointing to see Eggar Lawson do that, they claim to be passionate about the cars. I got my first years insurance with them, but swapped as they actually didnt seem that cheap.

Talk to Dave Spragg at MSM Insurance.

Great quotes, great people.

Never found insurer's track day cover worth paying a premium for. Most of them will wriggle out of claims in a second.

Do any cover them as standard, with no quibble claim policies and decent quotes? Genuinely interested as haven't been using the Caterham for a while and it's just about to come home

I use Hagertey, who charge 10% of annual premium per trackday with an organised company in UK or abroad. The excess is £400 and the cover is for the car's agreed value. They have always been good to deal with, but can't comment on claiming as I haven't yet (touch wood).

THB Eggar Lawson in Nottingham (who are also Competition Car Insurance) offer track day cover.

The amusing thing I now find is that I've moved from THB Egger Lawson to Adrian Flux and saved over £100 but they are both insured Chaucer, so I've changed broker but not insurers.

Go figure!!
