I've read lots about early engines having issues, any owners on here had any engine or gearbox problems?

People don't seem to talk about it openly - because they're in dispute with Caterham? I would try blatchat instead. The C400 race series certainly have cooling problems, but that's not a road car issue (or track car issue, judging by my duranail).

Cooling of Caterham race cars is always a little tricky. The tendency for very close slipstreaming for long periods of time means the rad gets very little air!

I don’t understand your comment….”early engines”….they may new to Caterhams, but that’s it! Cooling may be a problem on Caterhams because as per norm is crap

Cosworth have been building these engines some time and are undoubtedly are expert engine building
